Opinions Are Not The Truth

Opinions are not the same as truth. Opinions are fluid personal judgments which follow or rebel against the shifting sands of public discourse, belief or culture. They are ‘here’ one minute and over ‘there’ the next. They are always changing, never dependable, and can tend to be feelings-based. Andrew Wommack says, “opinions are like noses: everyone has them, but there’s usually a couple of holes in them.”

The Truth is not a feeling, nor does it rely on public discourse. The truth is a solid rock and unchanging. No matter how many public opinions are spouted, the Truth remains. It can’t be banned, tamed, tailor-made, or bullied into compliance.

The Truth is a person. The words Jesus spoke at the beginning of time brought everything into being (‘through Him all things were made’ and ‘all things are held together by Him’, and ‘the word of God frames the cosmos’).

When Jesus said He is ‘The way, THE TRUTH and The life’ (not ‘A’ truth: ‘The’ Truth) and that ‘no one comes to the Father except through Him’, it went way beyond emotional opinion: it was solid, eternal, unwavering, and unending substance. Before the foundations of the world were laid, He already was. All unchanging, unflinching truth came through Him. It bled out across the cosmos from eternity to eternity and orchestrated life. Love. Creativity. Freedom. All good things.

We are in a time where public opinion is doing its absolute best to erase or rewrite truth, but The Truth cannot be rewritten because He simply and eternally… IS.
