What Do You Fear?

What do you fear? Sickness? Death? Financial ruin? Relationship breakups? Fears like these are based on earthly judgment systems that have real consequences according to earth’s laws and legalities. The problem with being bound to these fears and their systems is that once shackled to them—you are bound to the parameters of fear as well as its consequences.

Earthly fear is not found in our Heavenly Father: love is. His Kingdom is not of this world and therefore His answers and solutions are not limited to our laws, thoughts, or opinions, and His ways are bound to love. There are no laws against love. Kingdom (or ‘agape’) love is a far-reaching love. It lives both in and outside of time and before the foundations of the earth were laid, there it was. So the question then, is, ‘why do we revert to fear?’

The word says that ‘There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love” (1 John 4:18).

People often say that if you’re not in faith, you’re in fear, but no! If you’re not in Love Himself, you’re in fear… So then fear comes when we dislodge ourselves from Love’s perfection and indulge in pondering systems of punishment.

A thought: In the places where your fears reside, try to shift your focus away from your fears and direct your focus firmly onto Jesus. Learn to fix your eyes on Jesus just as you would place a magnifying glass over a word, a bug, or a person’s eye, to make them bigger. Whatever you magnify will become the single greatest focus of your space and it will be what you see best—what you see most. What you focus on will affect the atmosphere you carry.

What are you focused on? Infection, rejection, fearful words or thoughts, compliance through fear, or non-compliance through fear? If you are focused on anything based in fear, you have magnified a micro-world issue instead of love and Your Father’s macro-Kingdom.
